If you cannot see any results, see How to solve a scenario to get results.

2 Check the date of the results
3 Get an overview in the Strategy Summary

This step lets you see what's happening in the strategy and to make a note of anything that you might want to investigate in more detail. On the Strategy Summary sub-step, you will see:

  • Assumptions
  • A strategy summary for each item:
    • Initial values
    • Noteworthy occurrences during the analysis (e.g. maximum values, whether withdrawals are made)
    • Projected final values
    • Charts
4 Check the cash flows and action items

In the Cash flows & Action items step, you can review the strategy in more detail.

In the Cash flows report:

  • For each line, read across the years and to check if there are any unexpected values.
  • For years where a major milestone happens (e.g. a property purchase), you can read down a column to see where funds are coming from and going to.
  • At the end of the each column, you can click a button to see the action items for the year.

In the Action items:

  • At the end of the each column in the Cash flows report, you can click a button to see the action items for the year.
  • Key points from the cash flows reports will be explained in plan English and with extra context. For example, in the year a home is home is bought, the action item will also list the amount borrowed and the required deposit.
  • If your report has a shortfall, see How to investigate and fix cash shortfalls

Get more details in the Detailed reports

The Detailed reports sub-step is a comprehensive collection of detailed reports that can give you more information on how the numbers were calculated (see below for more information on this section).

6 Save the results in a Document At the Documents sub-step, you can download the results into an MS Word document. For more see How to download a Strategy Paper or SOA (Statement of Advice) Foundation document (BETA)

Reading the detailed report tables

At the Results > Detailed reports step, you should see the following options (the numbers are labelled in image):

    1. Actual value or Present value - ‘Actual values’ are nominal dollars, that is, the dollar value that is current for the future year listed in the report. ‘Present values’ discount future values to today’s dollars using the CPI value given in the ‘Assumptions’ section of the strategy summary. Present values provide a better perspective when projecting many years into the future.
    2. Year range - you can choose 10 year increments or all years in the analysis.
    3. Download CSV - once you've selected a report, you can download it in CSV (comma separated values) file format. (it's best to change the year range to 'All' before downloading)
    4. Detailed reports - On the left, you have a tree menu - note that you can click the headings (e.g. 'Consolidated') for a wealth summary.

If you have a cash shortfall, see How to investigate and fix cash shortfalls.
