Getting Started Guide

This guide is a good place to start if you have never used Pathfinder before. You can start from the beginning or skip to the section you're interested in:

Log in to Pathfinder

Make sure you are using Chrome

For the best performance of Pathfinder, we highly recommend you use Google Chrome as your internet browser. If you use another browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari, and you encounter difficulties, try switching to Chrome.

1

Click this link to Download Chrome (it will go to an external site from Optimo)

2

On the Download Chrome page, follow the prompts to install Chrome, it will only take a few minutes.

Check your version of Chrome is up to date

If you just installed Chrome you can skip this step.

If you already had Chrome installed, check that you've got the latest version. Click here to expand...

Using older versions of Chrome can cause issues in Pathfinder. Checking and updating only takes a moment.

1 Open Chrome. If you have not installed Chrome, see How to Install Chrome as your Internet Browser
2

Click Settings (the vertical dots on the top right of the window), and then select Help > About Google Chrome

3

In the About Chrome window that opens, there will be information about whether you have the latest version of Chrome.  If you don’t, then there will be prompts to help you update it.

Add a case

Start a new case

  1. Log in to Pathfinder https://login.optimopathfinder.com.au/
  2. Make sure you are on the Home page (if not, click the Home link on the top right)
  3. Make sure your personal details are up to date, so the results documents will be filled in with the correct details, too. For more see Edit Profile page.
  4. Click the Add new case button:
    1. If you have no pre-paid cases, you will be directed to a payment page where you can chose your case bundle (1, 10 or 20 cases) and pay online with a credit card.  After you have you paid, you can add cases with the Add new case button
    2. If you have pre-paid cases, a pop-up will tell you the number of cases you have left before the case is added.
    3. If you are neither shown how many pre-paid cases you have left nor prompted to choose a case bundle, then you are using a free trial case.
  5. Once you have created a case, at the Start step (top menu) you can choose buttons to either:
    1. Fill the case with sample data; or
    2. Start with a blank case; or
